Behind Clear Ideas was a team of six students who were in the Corporate Communications post-graduate program at Seneca College. We have a diverse background and experiences and are excited to bring it all to the table to present this world-class event!

Harrison Ruess – @HarrisonRuess

Harrison Ruess

Harrison brought his experience in public speaking, strategic planning, social media, and event planning to the forefront in conceptualizing, organizing, and executing Clear Ideas. His creativity and ambition were vital components in making this event a reality and are driving forces in Harrison’s life every day. His passion in communication rests in strategic communication planning, social media planning, and project management. Harrison enjoys exposing people to new ideas and concepts. Beyond being an aspiring corporate communications practitioner, Harrison has his Commercial Pilot’s License, works in a major cultural institution in Toronto, and enjoys astronomy.

Dayse Gonçalves – @DayseGoncalves

Dayse Goncalves

Graduated from Faculdade Cásper Líbero, one of the most renowned Communications Schools in Brazil, and now the Corporate Communications Program at Seneca College, Dayse has over five years experience in the Public Relations industry. Brazilian by birth, she worked as Media Relations Specialist for BTG Pactual, the largest standalone investment bank in Latin America, where, among other projects, she participated in the media strategy for the bank’s IPO at Bovespa (Sao Paulo Stock Exchange). Prior to that, Dayse worked for the Investor Relations agency MZ Consult supporting various publicly-traded companies with regards to media relations and event planning (annual meetings, press-conferences, etc.). Dayse brought knowledge of the financial market and event planning to the Clear Ideas team.

Charline Grenet – @CharlineGrenet

Charline Grenet

Charline Grenet is the French counterpart for Clear Ideas Toronto. Her experience lies in social media strategy in the 2012 French presidential campaign, and she was the voice behind the Clear Ideas Twitter account. With a journalism background, she knows how to make it short and sweet and is really excited to demonstrate that business can follow this trend. She is an aspiring political public relations practitioner. When she’s not behind her computer, she travels across Europe with her backpack.

Debra Weinryb – @DebraWeinryb

Debra Weinryb

Debra’s interests lie strongly in writing, media relations, social media, event planning and corporate social responsibility. She believes that social engagement and clear strategic planning are essential steps in demonstrating organizational value to stakeholders. When not planning her next big project, you can find Debra attending community lecture series about sustainability, business development and social media.

Shawna Vassel – @MsVassel

Shawna Vassel

Shawna is representative of the diverse educational backgrounds that can be found in the communications field. Obtaining her degree in Political Science, Shawna spent several years in the corporate world before beginning her graduate studies in Communications at Seneca College. A sharp analytical mind and a creative spirit, her interests lie in writing, strategic communication planning, issues and crisis management. Shawna brought her passion and talent for event management to Clear Ideas. A political and current events enthusiast, in her spare time, Shawna loves to read and travel.

Phillip Rego – @PhillRego

Phillip Rego

Phillip has a long standing passion for the arts. With an undergraduate degree in opera performance, his keen eye for the detail and fluidity of a public relations plan are evident. Always bringing innovative and eye-catching ideas to projects, Phillip insists on using progressive and grassroots methods to communicating with publics.
